Hello, any followers that remain.

Today was my birthday, and I've finally kicked myself back into doing this hobby that I love, taking and putting up photos. Not near as fun if I can't share them, even if not many are going to end up seeing them, haha. Been in a good mood lately. Went from my last journal post, and mostly my last major uploads, from being the end of my highschool life. Now it's only about two weeks until my Freshman year of college is over. It's really hard to believe how fast time has gone. I've been quite busy the last month, I hate having to be in a time crunch with my work, but if I just get better with putting off work, well... then I'd be golden. Quite jarring, college/Uni is much different.


Saw a dip in my highschool vs. college GPA, but I'm bringing it back up. 3.0 first semester, but I'll hopefully bring it up to 3.5 or better by the end of next year again. Need to shoot for that average so I can make it into a graduate program. I want to get a master's in clinical/counseling Psychology down the line, as that's what I've decided for my profession. That way I can afford fancy camera lenses.  Haha, I'll be into this years down the line still, I'm sure. I just hope I can stay creative, and do things other than only landscapes. That's my favorite thing to do still, but I want to do other things time to time that requires more creativity. I bet I'll get shot by some other photographers for saying that, but, regardless, that's how I feel. I like variety!

Anyway, as always, I'd love to hear feedback on how anyone reading this is doing. Things have been good for me, despite being busy the stress has passed for me and I'm tacking stuff as it comes now, in the end. Loving being back into this, even if in passing. I have ambitions for summer, finally getting a first job... that way I can save up and afford to have a pet bearded dragon, which I've desired for a year to two now. I want one so much

Well. Been a while since any kind of journal post thingy. I've been busy, oh God. Trying to make sure to study for finals (haha, didn't end up happening. But I got over 80% on both of the most important ones anyway, so yay) and, hm. Well, do all the other work I needed to do. It's also put a bad stunt in taking photos. However, I'm uploading some to my stash to publish later on right now, and I'm in the middle of publishing the last batch as I write this. So, lots of new photos coming up (if they're not up already by the time anyone reads this).

I also graduate from high school tomorrow. I'm pretty excited. But also a bit sad, because I move soon, and I've spent the last 8 years or so of my life going to this school and being near this town. Still, looking forward to college. Just a bit sad to see my time here ending, with me likely to never be back...

Also, I'm the Salutatorian of my class (but it's a very very small school, 23 or so people, so... it's not as big of an accomplishment as it could be. I rank like... top 100 in the district though I think. So, yeah, woo.) Regardless, that means I have a speech to do. I got the third ranked in my class to be able to help me, and we put together the most awesome and stupid at the same time thing ever made. It's simply horrible and amazing. It's cheesy and silly and like one of those super super low budget movies, but it remains awesome in its own right. Cheesy, cheesy awesomeness. Oh, right - it's a half speech, half video hybrid. Almost all the speeches ever made in the past at this school have been so bland and boring and REPETITIVE that we decided we needed to do something really different. And it is, and hopefully everyone's gonna like it. I can post the video used and the script of the speech if anyone wishes to see it.

Lots of thank you letters for both my grad gifts I've been getting, too. Can't complain about that though. I'm really excited and happy with how things're going for me right now, how's everyone else who's reading this?

P.S. Thank you to all my routine followers who've stayed with me and enjoyed my photos as I continue to do them. Most of the upcoming ones are scenery, but I've tried a couple other things this time as well. Finally got some nice animal shots: SWANS. WOO.

Speech:
Isaiah: Hello everyone, I'm Isaiah Olson, and the Salutatorian of the senior class this year. And this is the part of the program where I do a looking forward speech. With that said…

Sam: *enter stage* Alright, hold on, wait a minute. This is so boring. No one wants to sit here and watch another speech, that's just like every other year. We need to spice this thing up.

Isaiah: Why Sam, this is entirely unprecedented.

Sam: Shut up.

Isaiah: Well, this is happening. So, Sam, what did you have planned for today, specifically?

Sam: Well, I prepared a song. Hit it! *Sam does a very short Gangnam style parody thing*

Isaiah: *interrupts* No no no, Sam, no. This is entirely unacceptable. This speech should be about looking towards the future, our futures. We all have great possibilities ahead of us, not lame Korean-pop parodies.

Sam: Oh, right, uh… future. Well luckily, I thought of that too! Here's a video highlighting what our future will likely entail. *short video clip plays, off topic * See? Wasn't that better?

Isaiah: Riveting, Mr. Carlson, but still off topic. You don't cover what we're supposed to talk about – all the good times we've had and, more importantly, the bright futures we all have in front of us. And that is not a laser filled apocalypse.

Sam: Oh, well, I've got the perfect thing! Trust me this time.

Isaiah: And that is?

Sam: Uh, well… another video using a popular fantasy series used as a metaphor to explain the journey and adventure that is ahead of all of us.

Isaiah: That's the Lord of the Rings, isn't it?

Sam: …Yeah. *start video*

Isaiah: It all started in pre-school, we had our journeys laid out in front of us.

Sam: The journey would be perilous. We would gain fellowship, making many allies and friends.

Isaiah: However, this wouldn't come without losses and hardships along the way.

Sam: But, through it all, we've made it to the end – of this first journey.
Isaiah: We now have a longer road ahead of us. A harder road, and one where some of us part ways.  

Sam: However we still, together, head towards our futures. Some of our paths may yet cross, but our fates are all our own to make now.

Isaiah: There will no longer by any guiding hands nor pre-determined course.

Sam: May we be warriors or healers, or rulers of the land, it is our path to forge.

Isaiah: Today is our final day all together before we venture forth. We head out to the dangerous, the unknown—

Sam: —but also the hopeful and bright horizon. The past is behind us. The future is ahead.

Isaiah: No matter what our individual goals, we will, beyond all doubts, conquer our malleable dreams.

Sam: We shall temper a sword of our destinies, and to this end… *video switches and goes to something silly* So, Isaiah, how was that?

Isaiah: It was… precious. And, well, all I can say is that I'm glad to be with you, Samwise…here at the end of all things.
Sam: Well yes. To you, and to all others who have been part of the fellowship this far, I bid you farewell as we all go on our paths.

Isaiah: Before we all split off for our own trails, remember this: we are our own masters now, of our fates and of what accomplishments we will have. Remember the words of Aragorn: "My friends, you bow to no one."

I get a lot of favorites put up whenever I post new pictures, and usually it's a lot, coming from between my own followers and from people noticing them in the groups I post. It's hard to reply with a "thank you" to literally over 150 or so people, so I just want to make this journal now. Thank you, to everyone who has, or will, favorite any art or photos I put up, thank you so much. It means a lot to me, and I'm grateful to know people appreciate the stuff I'm posting. I know that this really won't be seen by the people coming in who aren't followers, but, still. Thanks to everyone, and especially the awesome people who're following me

I've been having a rough time in my life the past couple weeks, feeling down. It took a ton of will to force myself to go take photos this month. I know some people might say I should've just taken a break, but, it did help get my mind off of things while working with it, and it was fun. Beyond that, setting up a calendar with photos from each corresponding month wouldn't really work if I skipped a month, haha. Anyways, feeling better, and I just wanted to express my thanks, at least here, since I've been neglecting that. Love you all! <3
